Great pics (toaster in the living room? why not?!). The meal chez Mme Arlette looked wonderful...so I had to watch the Marie-Claire video where Mme Arlette appears to be graciously greeting and seating customers while cranking out cappucinos and whipping up quiche and crudites aka works-of-art salads. What a gem!
Last Friday we had dinner with a family who moved here in January (!!) from a town near Nantes. The wife is American and speaks beautiful French, the husband is French and speaks English with a slight Irish accent, and their 2 1/2 year old daughter likes to faire les courses, play with trains, and make sure everyone is comfortable and ready to faire dodo. Is there anything cuter than a French toddler?
ps There is a French sandwich shop in the St. Paul skyway system that will soon offer crepes, made by the French guy mentioned above. Yum!
pps I did not speak any French to the French-speakers. Shame is a bad habit.

Crêpes in the skyway, yes please! Brilliant idea. That family sounds so sweet. I want to meet them. And I know how you feel; sometimes I am way too nervous to speak French. But when I do, it pays off... and I bet you'd get compliments!
