My my my my my my my my

This song runs through my head every morning. Lisssssten! (Also watch Blue Valentine in which this song is featured. Especially if you like Ryan Gosling. So K, that's you.)

I wish you all could eat lunch with me in the cantine. You would be flabbergasted and satisfied. Aujourd'hui: Fish, perfect mashed potatoes, broccoli, bread (duh), cheese (no duh), water, cucumber/tomato salad, and some flan dessert with caramel sauce. I almost died afterward but it was worth it. I put myself through this 3 times a week.

To the person who unknowingly introduced me to Kinder: thank you/get out of here! You know who you are.  I do like the coloring book prize hidden underneath-- just another reason to race through an entire package.

The Chaunois air is windy and fresh, quite the opposite of a Minneapolis February. Ruth and I went for TWO walks yesterday: coffee, cool wind, blue sky, girly gossip. Beyond beautiful.

My awesome students again took part in speed dating this morning (a different group... I wouldn't make anyone do it twice).

Name: Bob
Age: 26
Hobbies: to sleep, to eat, to drink
Job: No Job but I deal drugs
Pets: a mouse and, spid, no  just the pets who The only pets that I have are in my refrigerator.

Still looove your blog.

It's no joke that the French know how to eat. The cantine at my university back in '94 (yes, the Internet had been invented, no I hadn't heard of it) had the same kind of spread, and for not a whole lot of francs. Subsidies for all the RIGHT industries?

How can you have snow and green grass and a fresh breeze? We have: freezing breeze, Styrofoam crunchy snow, white, gray and off-gray.

Again, thoroughly enjoying the pics and prose. :)

Thank you so much, Ellen! I agree, the weather is nutty: no snow at all here! I hear MPLS is in the 40s this week. WAHOO!
