I woke up with a pounding headache and a burst of productivity. I successfully avoided the internet* for a period of time and prepared lessons, washed dishes, made apple-cinnamon bread with Norman, and went for a vigorous walk. I drank many glasses of water and made my bed.
*The internet. A necessary evil. Mostly evil. Norman and I talked about the internet today: he was frustrated when a friend didn't respond to a chat after 10 minutes, but then he thought about the olden days when you wouldn't get a response for a month, or a year! The internet stresses me out. So it's time to tone it down, a lot. Blogging doesn't count.
I accidentally dialed the fire station today while trying to call the bank's customer service. Just dial 18 for fire! A voice said, "We are the pompiers. Don't worry!" Now I know. (Smoke alarms don't seem to exist here so I'm glad to have memorized 1-8).
