This meal will be replicated and improved upon many times this summer, I hope:
Brown rice, garlic-y kale, leftover pork chop!, baby tomatoes (not from the garden yet), and avocado. It was soooooo tasty.
Birchwood Father's Day brunch! I had the savory waffle. Yummy lardons and gooood butter.
Sister's scramble. The potatoes were so-so, but pretty.
Pa's green eggs and ham. I think he liked it.
I think the key to meal planning (which I don't do enough of) is planning, duh. Like making a pot of brown rice for the week or chopping kale right after purchase for easy use later on. I want to develop this habit! I've done this for a couple years with breakfast: a big pot of steel cut oats can last almost the whole week in the refrigerator. I would add a little milk, heat in micro, and put walnuts, more milk, and agave (or variation) on top. So so so tasty. I also used heavy cream a few times. !!
I hope summertime break will be ideal for developing new, good habits. Like not using Qtips anymore. I was lectured on this at the doctor after having my ears hosed out...
And perhaps a blog post here and there?
